With the variety of bars found on the market, I quite like the idea behind the Lara Bars (http://www.larabar.com/): Gluten-free, Soy-free, Dairy-free and non-GMO. A big help for those suffering with food allergies or wanting to eat healthier.
Also, most Lara bars do not contain more than 9 ingredients, and some even down to 2!! Quite refreshing since many granola bars found in stores can contain up to 20 or even 30 ingredients!!
In terms of health, these are great snack options. They contain fiber, which isn’t found in most bars, but also healthy fats for our nervous system and our busy brain. Kudos to Lara.
However, in terms of taste and texture, it is very personal. For me, they are tasty but in terms of the texture, well, a tad mushy for my liking. It crumbled quite easily in my purse and backpack (I did bring a dozen with me on my Peru trip. Helpful for the long treks, but tricky to eat once in pieces).
- Complete snack: 4/5
- Flavour: 4/5
- Texture: 1/5
- Price value: 4/5 (for most products, buying in bulk is best because it can be up to 2$ per bar if bought individually. I would have given it 5/5 if it wasn’t for the texture)
